Construction leftovers, protective netting, and paraffin
Set of 30 pieces with variable dimensions
A series of small houses built from remnants of buildings and protective mesh used in construction, covered in paraffin.
While walking through the city of Barcelona, Spain, I came across numerous buildings under renovation or restoration, draped in protective mesh. These meshes shield and veil the buildings, becoming a temporary extension of the architecture — lasting from a week to several months. Using discarded materials from these constructions — where the façade is in transit, under renovation, in flux — I create new architectures, in which the mesh becomes both foundation and veil, stiffened with paraffin.
