BIO

Cecília Lima, Brazilian, born in 1997, is a visual artist who lives and works in Porto, Portugal. Her artistic practice stems from everyday experience and the scales between the ordinary and the cosmic, through the collection of sounds, images, and discarded objects.

Her works configure new spatial and poetic relationships between ordinary materials and the economic, ecological, and temporal circuits of which they are part, exploring dynamics of scale, light, shadow, repetition, balance, and an understanding of the vibrant materiality of all things. Her research unfolds in languages such as sculpture, drawing, video, sound art, and others. Along this path, there is a dialogue between the visible and the invisible, the ephemeral and the lasting, in an intersection between art, geography, astronomy, and the natural sciences.

The artist holds a degree in Visual Arts from the University of Brasília – UnB, Brazil, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, Portugal. She has been exhibiting regularly since 2017 in Brazil and other countries. In 2019, she held her first solo exhibition at Espronceda Art and Culture, in Barcelona, Spain. In 2020, she was nominated for the 11th edition of the PIPA Prize in Brazil. In 2025, she was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the 8th International Art Biennial of Espinho.
