"Loads" is a series of paintings created from sketches and observations made during car trips. The paintings, depicting trucks and excavators, originated from the traffic on the roads cutting through the Federal District, the city where I live and travel through various highways, following construction sites scattered throughout the city due to urban growth in recent years. In the series, trucks and excavators are portrayed carrying building materials and other types of raw materials in large quantities. This depiction, created with dense brushstrokes, plays with the title, where the weight of these vehicles is transferred to the images through the concentration of thick masses of paint and oil pastels.
