Tezontle, dedicado a las tierras libres
(Tezontle, dedicated to the free lands)

Installation
Sugar, ceramics, and wood
20 x 100 x 80 cm
Assemblage with sugar, clay pieces, and wood. "Tezontle" is a name given to colored rocks. It is a stone used in pre-Hispanic constructions and objects, much like the elements in this installation. Through their shapes and materials, they evoke the architectures and landscapes of the indigenous peoples of the South American continent, providing a dwelling for what is no longer present. In a circle, the elements share a common history, preserving the small Amerindian architecture. They are fragments of the mystery and riches of the earliest villages, cities, and American communities that remain with us like a sun stone, a large Aztec calendar, rare and enigmatic.
